  1. Gleek, sure, but in high school (early 80’s) we called it glitting (rhymes with “quitting”). We used them both interchangeably.

  2. There’s a movement of the tongue kinda pulling it back and up in the mouth that produces the gleek… not sure how to ‘teach’ it or explain it any better though. Hope that helps…

  3. When I was in high school (also early eighties), we called it snaking. I guess because it resembles a viper spitting?

It’s easiest to do when you have indigestion. Your salivary glands are already working on overdirve.

I’ve always wondered if everyone could do it willingly.

  4. Yeah it’s fun to do on purpose… unfortunately the only time it seems to come up is on a dinner date, and often my dates aren’t so impressed.

  5. I don’t gleek like that but I often do have gleeking fights with my boyfriend. I make sure my mouth is really wet then I move my tongue slightly back and far right at the same time, get’s him a corker!

  6. Yeah I do it like you Stacy, where my mouth is wet and I just pull my tongue back like it’s being pulled back to release a trigger (or something like that). I’ve never been in a gleeking fight, but I think I’d be able to hold my own…

  7. i can gleek “on demand” but i can’t “aim” it.. it always goes off to the right. When my friend does it it goes perfectly strait right to where he aims it. I have to turn my head to the left to himt a “target”

  8. I’ve been gleeking since i was like 8. My brothers used to do it to torment me and i would be soo mad. It works best for me when i have a wet mouth too. I always show everyone and I think its the cooolest but i hardly ever get a “oh cool how do u do that” its usally a “eewww get away” lol. I saw this dude on Jay Leno once who could shoot it out like a fountain and it kept going. I can gleek about 3 or 4 ft in front of me.

  9. It’s easier to do if you’re eating something sour. With sour skittles, I can usually get over ten feet away. Aim comes with practice, too. My friend and I have “gleek wars” sometimes. There’s really no way to teach, but if you’re paying attention when it happens, you can recreate the muscle contractions in your mouth. Can anybody else sometimes achieve 4 streams?
