So when I got to Barcelona in September I was in the train station looking for some nice cold fluids and some foreign candy and I peered into the vending machine at the train station and saw this looking back at me.

Having grown up in the South I was familiar with the Sambo character and blackface and that’s what I was initially reminded of.

So of course I had to pick up a bag of conguitos to see what the candy actually looked like. They’re basically like peanut M&Ms but without the colors – they are all just dark brown.
